Headquartered in Southern California, our design sensibilities lean towards the modern and minimal with site-appropriate responses and the smart use of materials. We work with clients on a variety of project types that range from the adaptive reuse of historic buildings, to authoring design guidelines for international industrial parks, to helping cannabis clients navigate complex state and local licensing, design and construction requirements, to serving as sustainability guides for LEED Platinum office buildings. We enjoy the collaborations that each new client and project brings and pride ourselves in our listening skills and our abilities to build strong teams to accomplish our clients’ goals.
Our team understands and enjoys the stringent regulatory challenges of factory and warehouse uses.
Since 2014 we have been working on Retail Storefronts, Cultivation, Distribution and Manufacturing projects.
From new creative office, retail interior tenant improvements, to adaptive re-use, our team thrives in the commercial realm.
At our core we believe that architecture should protect human health and the environment.
We enjoy creating stellar homes within difficult sites, environmentally sensitive land, historic fabric, and code overlays.
We harness relationships with municipal staff and trusted consultants to lead projects through discretionary approvals.
Design
Design
We believe strongly that design happens at every stage of a project. This includes capturing client thoughts at preliminary meetings, hashing through details with materials and systems vendors, coordinating engineers, drawing technical drawings for permit, sketching details with contractors in the field and hundreds of opportunities in between. Once we determine the
parameters and needs for a particular project, we build teams of experts to meet the unique goals. When working on new buildings and sites we tread lightly, using an additive approach. When working with existing buildings we seek to thoughtfully modernize for the current inhabitants while respecting the structures's original character and neighboring context.
